Using Memberstack 2.0? There is an updated version of this article here.

Memberstack's signup & login forms come standard with reCaptcha to prevent bots & spam. Here's how to enable or disable it.

Good news, Memberstack's signup & login forms come standard with reCaptcha to prevent bots & spam. 🎉

We use V3 and V2 of reCaptcha. The V3 version is invisible, so it doesn't require any action from your members. If it fails, a red error bar will appear that reads "Could not verify recaptcha." If this becomes an issue, you can disable the feature or use V2.

How to disable reCaptcha.

Navigate to Settings in your dashboard where you'll find a toggle switch. A grey switch means reCaptcha is disabled.

Notes: Because of the invisible Google reCaptcha, users from China won't be able to sign up as China bans Google. You will need to turn off reCaptcha to allow Chinese users to sign up or log in.
