What is Strong Customer Authentication?
Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is a new European regulatory requirement to reduce fraud and make online payments more secure. To accept payments and meet SCA requirements, we had to build additional authentication into your checkout flow.
You'll see the SCA status label 👇 on the members page when a user started the signup process but failed to authenticate the payment with their bank.
Your member will need to try another payment method or resolve the issue with their bank before they continue. Here's a template to get you started.
SCA email to customer template:
Hi NAME,
Thanks so much for becoming a member!
Unfortunately, I received an alert that your payment failed because it hasn't been authorized by your bank.
You may need to contact your bank, look for a payment authorization text, or look for an email asking you to verify the payment. You'll gain access to the site as soon as you do!
Thanks,
