About this article:

Which scenario best applies to you?

Scenario 1 → All of my members are free, meaning I don't need to import any payment data. Please see: "Importing Free Members" below.

Scenario 2 → Some (or all) of my members have subscriptions in Stripe. If this describes you, please continue to "Importing Members with Payment Data," below.

Scenario 3 → Some of my members have active subscriptions, but I'm not using Stripe (e.g. PayPal, Braintree, ACH, etc). You can follow Stripes 'Migrating Data to Stripe' steps here, or please contact us for more information. We'll help you migrate their payment info into Stripe.

Importing Free Members

Step 1 → Create a CSV that contains all of your member data. We recommend you format the CSV so it matches this sample import template.

  • Email

  • Password (optional)

  • Memberstack membership ID (how to find a data-membership-id)

  • Any additional profile fields you want to collect (phone number, name, etc.)

Step 2 Check out our article on Importing members via CSV.

Note: Importing members does not update existing members.

Importing Members with Payment Data

We're unable to assist with paid imports right now.

After the import

Send your members an email letting them know what their password is or how to reset their password.

Note: We are working on a feature allowing you to import paying members too!
